Free Online Schedule Builder
As a student, I hated all the clunky schedule builders that made creating my class schedule painful. That’s why I built this free college schedule maker (above) to make it more fun.
It’s free, fast, and tells you more than a regular class schedule would. No login or registration required. Simply start building your schedule above and print it when ready.
How To Use The College Schedule Maker
You can build, customize, save, and print your schedule in minutes.
1. Set Your Awake Time
Your sleep is your study superpower but you can’t study when you’re asleep.
Turn on the “Awake Time” mode. Adjust your awake time window for each day. This gives the schedule builder boundaries for when to look for your available study time.
2. Add Courses to The College Schedule Maker
Create all the classes you’ve registered for or plan to register for. Simply click the “+” button to add new courses and the “edit pencil” button to rename them.
3. Set Default Duration
To speed things up, set the default duration for your classes and activities in the left sidebar.
4. Include All Your Personal and Academic Life Activities
Your schedule is more than your classes. It needs to include “activities” like your morning routine, meals, workouts, extracurriculars, and Me Time.
5. Me Time
Me Time is the time you don’t want to use for studying. This is your social time and “mental health” time.
6. Drag & Drop
Unlike the paper printout or the schedule builder supplied by your student center, our schedule builder makes planning your classes and activities fast, flexible, and fun.
Just grab the items in the left sidebar and drop them into your week. No need to save.
7. Resize
Grab the top or bottom of the event to resize the duration.
8. Set Repeat Pattern
Setting your event repeat patter is super easy. Just select the days the event repeats on to create multiple events at the same time.
9. Show/Hide Courses During Registration
You can hide courses and activities in the left sidebar. Use this especially during the registration phase of your semester when you’re searching for the right class schedule.
10. Adjust Your Minimum Study Time Block
Our schedule builder is the only tool that calculates how much study time you have available. But some free time blocks are simply too small to use for studying.
Use the slider to eliminate free time blocks in your schedule that are too small for studying.
11. What to do if the chart shows “incomplete schedule”?
This means that you probably didn’t schedule all your activities, such as meals, workouts, and Me Time. Your class schedule isn’t enough. Include your entire daily routine to uncover your true study time.
The Real Goal of a Schedule Builder
It’s not just about seeing when your classes are. The best schedule builder calculates how much study time you have so you know if your upcoming term is doable.
Know You Can Get It All Done
Our schedule builder calculates your study time and shows whether you have:
- Incomplete Schedule
- Ideal Amount of Study Time
- Too Little Study Time
These zones are based on averages. To be 100% sure YOU can get everything done and to turn Due dates into DO dates, check out our study planner called Shovel.
How To Customize Your Schedule Builder
Color
Students love to customize colors to complete the look of their schedule. Use the color picker next to each item in the left sidebar and select between pastel, bright, and dark colors.
Zoom In and Out
To view your entire day, zoom out with the viewport slider located in the bottom left of the schedule builder.
How To Print Your Schedule
To print your completed schedule, click the “print” icon located in the top right corner of the schedule builder.
How To Reset the Schedule Builder
To reset your schedule, and create a new schedule, click the “reset” button in the top right corner.
Why You Need an Actual Schedule
If you want to plan your upcoming term, ace your classes, and enjoy your academic life, you need to build a schedule that shows more than your class times.
Effective Scheduling Tips
We built an amazing free course on how to create an effective study plan. No registration required. This is a great free resource on top of the advice your student center provides.
