What Makes Shovel So Unique?
We have spoken to many executive functioning coaches and when they describe how they help their students get organized, they start listing out tools not built for students “duck-taped” together to fit student needs.
This is typically difficult for students to stick to. So we built something better. A tool built for students.
Turn DUE Dates into DO Dates
Many executive functioning coaches start by teaching their students how to build a schedule (typically in Google calendar), then they teach them how to create a to-do list (typically in a spreadsheet or some app).
But when it comes to putting those two together to make it easy for students to dynamically plan their tasks into their schedule, their tools fall apart. That’s where Shovel comes in.
Shovel lists out all of student’s tasks next to their calendar and allows them to simply drag and drop their tasks into their schedule.
If students estimated their tasks, Shovel will show how much of each task has been planned, and how much time they still need to plan to complete their task.

A completely unique feature to Shovel is the Cushion™, which compares your student’s time and workload and calculates if they’ll be able to get everything done on time or if they need to change their schedule.
It does this calculation in real-time and looks at the entire semester so it can warn you of a problem that would happen two months from now if no change was made.
How to Set Up a Shovel Coaching Account?
Setting up your account is easy. Simply go to the resistration page and enter your name, email, and password.
Share Your Coaching ID with Your Students
Once you create your account, all you need to do is give your student your coaching ID which is in the top right corner of your coaching account.
Where Do Students Enter Your Coaching ID?
Once you share your coaching ID with your students, they need to open their Shovel account on a computer > Settings (lower left) > Give Access > here they can enter your Coaching ID and confirm by clicking the “Give Access” button.
How To Help Students Set Up and Manage Their Shovel Account?
Once students give you access, their account will appear in your coaching account. Simply click the “view as” icon next to their account.
Now You’ll See What Your Student Sees
You’ll have access to your student’s Shovel account and you’ll be able to help them set things up and check in on their progress without needing to log in and out of their account.

How To Go Back to My Coaching Account?
You’ll see your student’s Shovel account exactly the same way as them, except you’ll see a purple bar at the top. Click “Back to Shovel Coach” to log out of your Student’s view.
Switch Between Your Students’ Accounts
If you’re working with multiple students, Shovel coaching account makes it easy to switch between your students’ accounts without needing to log in and out of their accounts.
Can Students Stop Sharing Access?
Yes, your students can easily stop sharing access with you. Their settings will show who they share access with and they can click the “revoke access” button to stop sharing access.
Does This Give Me a Free Shovel Account?
No, this simply gives you a way to manage your students’ Shovel accounts.
Is The Shovel Coaching Account Free?
Yes, the Shovel Coaching Account is a FREE service. Your students just need to have an active Shovel account and give you access.
